Privacy Policy
Short version: Your browsing history, page content, and search queries never leave your device. Infivion LLC cannot access them — technically or otherwise. The only data we process is what’s needed to validate your license and handle payments through Paddle.
1. Who We Are
Histiq is operated by Infivion LLC, a company registered in Wyoming, United States. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information in connection with the Histiq browser extension and website at histiq.com.

2. What Histiq Does NOT Collect
We want to be explicit. The following data never leaves your device and is never accessible to Infivion LLC:
- Your browsing history (URLs, page titles, timestamps)
- The content of pages you visit
- Your search queries within Histiq
- AI chat messages and responses
- Embeddings and vector indexes generated from your history
All of the above is stored exclusively in your browser’s local IndexedDB. Histiq makes no outbound network requests involving this data.
3. What We Do Collect
3.1 License Validation
When you activate a paid subscription, the extension sends a license key validation request directly to Paddle’s API. This request includes:
- Your license key (provided by Paddle after purchase)
- An anonymous installation identifier (a locally generated random ID, not linked to your identity)
Infivion LLC does not log these requests on our own servers. Paddle’s data handling is governed by Paddle’s Privacy Policy.
3.2 Website Analytics
The histiq.com website may use privacy-respecting analytics (e.g., aggregate page view counts) to understand which pages are visited. No personally identifiable information is collected. No cross-site tracking cookies are used.
3.3 Payment Information
All purchases are processed by Paddle as our Merchant of Record. Infivion LLC never sees, stores, or has access to your payment card details, billing address, or payment history. Paddle’s checkout is hosted on Paddle’s own infrastructure.
3.4 Support Communications
If you contact us at support@histiq.com, we will have your email address and the content of your message. We use this only to respond to your inquiry and do not add you to any marketing list without your explicit consent.
4. Your Own API Keys
If you choose to use your own OpenAI, Anthropic, or other AI provider API key, that key is stored locally in your browser’s storage. When you send a chat message, the request goes directly from your browser to the AI provider — Histiq does not proxy, log, or see these requests.
Your use of third-party AI APIs is subject to those providers’ own privacy policies and terms of service.
5. Data Storage and Security
Your browsing history index is stored in your browser’s IndexedDB — the same storage mechanism used by web applications for local data. It is:
- Accessible only to the Histiq extension within your browser
- Never synced to any cloud service by Histiq
- Cleared when you uninstall the extension or clear your browser data
The license key is stored in chrome.storage.local / browser local storage and is accessible only to the Histiq extension.
6. Cookies
The Histiq browser extension does not use cookies. The histiq.com website may use essential cookies required for the site to function (e.g., session management). We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
7. Children’s Privacy
Histiq is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your personal data, including:
- Access: Request a copy of data we hold about you.
- Deletion: Request deletion of your data. Note: your browsing history is on your device — you can delete it anytime by uninstalling the extension or clearing IndexedDB via browser DevTools.
- Portability: Request your data in a portable format.
- Objection: Object to certain processing.

For payment data, contact Paddle directly at their privacy portal.
9. Data Retention
We retain the minimal data we hold as follows:
- License validation records — retained by Paddle per their policy.
- Support emails — retained for up to 2 years or until you request deletion.
- Your local index — retained on your device until you uninstall or clear it. After trial expiry without subscription, the index is cleared after 30 days.
10. International Transfers
Infivion LLC is based in the United States. If you access Histiq from the EU, UK, or other regions with data protection laws, please note that:
- Your browsing data never leaves your device — no transfer occurs.
- Payment data is handled by Paddle, which complies with GDPR and other applicable regulations.
- Any support communications sent to us are processed in the United States.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced in the extension or on this page. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
